Do gooder Testing

Use the template below to contact your local politicians and urge them to stand with the AFPA. Let’s work together to secure the recognition and support AFP appointees deserve.

While advocacy groups provide broad perspectives, a letter from an AFP/AFPA member, a family member of an AFP/AFPA member, or a friend of an AFP/AFPA member will reinforce the fact that we are serious, and meaningful change is required and supported. A letter-writing campaign will also help politicians understand how their decisions impact constituents like you.

You might wonder if writing a letter is worth your time. Here are some key reasons to do so:

  • To explain how an issue directly affects you or your community.
  • To support or oppose a proposed law, policy, or decision.
  • To inform politicians and candidates about an issue they may not fully understand.
  • To demonstrate public support on an issue.
  • To establish yourself as a knowledgeable resource for future discussions.
  • To remind officials that their decisions will be considered at election time.

Letters can also serve as a means of constituent support, such as seeking help with government services or advocating for systemic changes that affect a larger group. This is our aim!

Timing can make your letter more impactful and there is no time like now. As we enter the 2025 Federal Election campaign mode, politicians and candidates will make decisions and commitments that could impact your future.  By writing a letter today, you are engaging with your local politician.
