Holiday Greetings, Pay Update, and Support Information

17 December 2024

As the year draws to a close, this week marks the final working days for many before the Christmas stand-down period. I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a safe and joyful holiday season.

For those continuing to work during this period, thank you and please take care. If the AFPA can assist you in any way, do not hesitate to reach out to us.

I’m also pleased to share details about the first scheduled pay rise under the new 2024-2027 AFP Enterprise Agreement (EA). After ongoing discussions with the AFP, I can confirm that the 4.5% pay increase will be reflected in your 19 December 2024 pay slip and backdated to 9 December 2024—perfect timing for the holiday season. This swift implementation underscores our shared commitment to delivering on the EA.

I want to express my gratitude to Commissioner Kershaw for his decisive action. Following the ‘yes’ vote, we had productive discussions, and he ensured this pay increase would be processed without delay. His efforts are greatly appreciated.

Please take a moment to review your 19 December pay slip to ensure the 4.5% increase has been correctly applied. If you notice any discrepancies or have concerns, please contact your relevant payroll section in the first instance. If you continue to experience concerns, please contact us at afpa@afpa.org.au or (02) 6285 1677.

With this pay increase comes a minor adjustment to your AFPA fees. While the fee percentage remains at 1.25%, the increase in your salary means the total fee amount will adjust accordingly.

While the AFPA office will close from 24 December 2024 to 2 January 2025, our staff will remain available to provide assistance if required.

The AFPA after hours emergency contact number is 0428 623 967.

I acknowledge that the holiday season can be a difficult time for some. If you need welfare support or industrial relations assistance during the AFPA office shutdown period, please contact us via 0428 623 967.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment and trust in the AFPA.

In unity,
Alex
